Commissioner will set salaries for staff, direct office operations, and appoint officers and employees as needed within appropriated funding

Office will serve as a centralized resource for Native American nations to access information about state programs available to them

Responsibilities include developing cooperative relationships between New York's Native nations, Native organizations, Native American citizens, and the state

Office will advise state agencies on Native American policies and serve as a connector between Native nations and other state agencies and programs

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law
