Amends New York Penal Law Section 120.05 to add assault in the second degree charges for intentionally causing physical injury to domestic violence shelter employees to prevent them from performing their duties

Creates the same second-degree assault charge for injuring persons seeking services or residing at domestic violence shelters to prevent them from accessing the facility

Applies to assaults occurring on shelter grounds, property, buildings, or within 500 feet of such shelters

Takes effect on the first of November following enactment
