Prohibits school bus drivers from using hands-free mobile telephones while operating a school bus that is carrying students

Allows exceptions for emergency calls to police, fire departments, hospitals, ambulance services, or emergency response operators

Permits hands-free phone use when the school bus is parked at the side of or off a public highway, but not while actively picking up or dropping off students

Removes the general hands-free mobile telephone exemption that currently exists for school bus drivers transporting students

Takes effect 60 days after becoming law
