Expands New York City school district's transportation responsibility to include students in grades K-6 who stay after regular academic classes for remedial services, homework help, or childcare

Students must remain at school from 9:30 AM or earlier until 4:00 PM or later on weekdays to qualify for transportation

Distance requirements remain unchanged: at least 1 mile for grades 3-6 and at least one-half mile for grades K-2

Applies to both public and nonpublic school students within the city school district of cities with population of one million or more (New York City)

Allows the school district to either provide transportation directly or reimburse licensed transportation carriers under contract
