Creates a new crime of "aggravated assault in the third degree" under Penal Law § 120.80

Applies when a person commits third-degree assault while aided by another person who is physically present at the scene

Elevates the offense from a class A misdemeanor (standard third-degree assault) to a class E felony

Takes effect on the first of November following enactment into law
