Redefines supervision requirements for physical therapist assistants (PTAs) from "on-site supervision" to "continuous supervision" that does not require the physical presence of the supervising physical therapist at the time and place services are performed

Requires supervising physical therapists to be available for consultation with the PTA or patient within a reasonable amount of time as determined by commissioner's regulations

Clarifies that PTAs work under the "direction and supervision" of licensed physical therapists and cannot perform evaluation, interpretation, planning, or modification of a patient's plan of care

Maintains the existing ratio limit of four licensed PTAs to one licensed physical therapist, as determined by commissioner's regulations

Takes effect one year after becoming law
