NY S05170

Allows plaintiffs with unsatisfied judgments to collect directly from co-defendants or third-party defendants who were found liable for contribution or indemnification to the original defendant

Requires the original judgment to remain unpaid for 30 days after being served on the defendant before the plaintiff can pursue the third party

Permits plaintiffs to attach or take assignment of the defendant's contribution/indemnification claims and prosecute them independently if those claims haven't yet been reduced to judgment

Excludes direct recovery against third-party defendants in cases where workers' compensation law (Section 11) would have barred the third-party claim, or where the third party was the plaintiff's employer at the time of injury

Applies to all judgments entered on or after the effective date of the act
