Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, advanced EMTs, and paramedics who test positive for or display symptoms of a pandemic virus after exposure would be entitled to line of duty sick leave at their regular rate of pay

Line of duty sick leave must be granted without loss of the employee's accrued sick leave, starting from the date of diagnosis or symptom onset

Employers are prohibited from taking adverse personnel actions (discipline, discharge, suspension, demotion, or discrimination) against employees who utilize or request this pandemic-related leave

Employees must submit a written request including a HIPAA waiver allowing disclosure of their exposure, positive test, and related medical records to their retirement system for claim review purposes

The state would reimburse public authorities and municipal corporations with populations under one million for the cost of line of duty sick leave granted under this provision
