Prohibits operators of assisted living residences, retirement homes, or nursing homes from receiving approval to establish or operate asylum seeker housing facilities after notifying the health department of intent to close or decertify the care facility

Bars the Commissioner of Social Services from contracting with such operators for asylum seeker facilities once closure/decertification notice has been filed

Defines "asylum seeker" as individuals who have applied for or are eligible to apply for asylum under 8 U.S. Code § 1158, or who qualify as refugees under the Immigration and Nationality Act

Named the "Frank Tammaro Island Shores law"

Takes effect immediately upon passage
