Establishes a 16-member senior housing task force within the Division of Housing and Community Renewal, co-chaired by the Commissioner of Housing and Community Renewal and the Director of the Office for the Aging

Task force includes representatives from 8 state agencies (housing, aging, health, mental health, economic development, developmental disabilities, protective services, and NYC aging) plus 8 legislative appointees representing housing and senior citizen groups

Requires annual statewide assessment of senior housing needs across different geographic areas, projecting needs over the next five years and considering health care, long-term care, financial resources, and transportation needs

Assessment must review innovative approaches from New York and other states and develop a plan for providing quality senior housing to meet projected needs

Task force must issue an annual report by January 1st with findings, recommendations, and the state plan to the governor and legislative leaders; takes effect 90 days after becoming law
