Authorizes Andriel Santana, a full-time correctional officer continuously employed by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, to take the competitive civil service examination for deputy sheriff despite provisions in section 58 of civil service law that would otherwise disqualify him

Allows Santana to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time deputy sheriff contingent upon his examination score

Requires Santana to remain subject to all other merit and fitness provisions of civil service law applicable to full-time deputy sheriffs

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
