Adds employees of secure and limited secure residential facilities licensed, certified, or operated by the Office of Children and Family Services to the list of protected public employees under the assault in the second degree statute

Causing physical injury to these OCFS facility employees with intent to prevent them from performing their lawful duties would constitute second-degree assault, a Class D felony

Amends Penal Law Section 120.05, subdivisions 3 and 11, which already protect employees such as police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, nurses, transit workers, and sanitation workers

The bill takes effect immediately upon passage
