Applies specifically to positions including special patrol officer, assistant director of safety and security, director of safety and security, and chief emergency officer

Requires appointment by the Board of Education to qualify for peace officer designation

Does not authorize carrying, possessing, repairing, or disposing of firearms unless the officer has obtained the appropriate license under Penal Law section 400.00

Takes effect immediately upon passage
