Raises the mandatory retirement age for judges and justices from 70 to 76 years old, effective the last day of December in the year they reach that age

Allows retired Court of Appeals judges and Supreme Court justices to continue serving as Supreme Court justices after retirement if certified as mentally and physically competent and needed to expedite court business

Extends the maximum age for retired judges and justices performing judicial duties from 76 to 80 years old

Requires certifications for continued service to be valid for two-year terms, with provisions for additional two-year extensions

As a constitutional amendment, must be passed by two successive legislatures and approved by voters at a general election
