Reduces the deadline for serving third-party summons and complaints from 120 days to 20 days after filing

Requires defendants to file third-party claims within 60 days of answering if based on a contractual relationship, or within 60 days of becoming aware of potential third-party liability

Establishes progressively shorter deadlines for subsequent third-party filings: 45 days for second third-party defendants, 30 days for third third-party defendants, and 20 days for any additional parties

Prohibits filing third-party complaints after a note of issue is filed, with violations resulting in severance or dismissal without prejudice

Exempts claims against a plaintiff's employer involving grave injuries under workers' compensation law or where the employer's identity was unknown, allowing 120 days from discovery in those cases

Takes effect 120 days after becoming law and applies to pending cases, but not to third-party filings made before the effective date
