Requires family courts to conduct mandatory records checks before awarding child custody during an order of protection proceeding

Courts must review the sex offender registry, statewide computerized registry of orders of protection, child abuse/neglect proceedings (Article 10), and all warrants issued under the Family Court Act

Amends Section 842 of the Family Court Act to add these review requirements when custody is awarded to either parent or a relative within the second degree

Repeals the eighth undesignated paragraph of Section 842 (existing related provisions)

Takes effect 30 days after becoming law
