Authorizes Mackenzie M. Covert, a police officer with the Trumansburg Police Department appointed February 13, 2017, to transfer from the section 375-i retirement plan to the special twenty-year retirement plan under section 384-d of the Retirement and Social Security Law

Requires the Village of Trumansburg to elect to assume the additional costs by filing a resolution with the state comptroller within one year of the act's effective date

Village must certify that the officer was enrolled in the wrong retirement plan through no fault of her own and not due to her own negligence

Past service costs of approximately $139,000 as a one-time payment will be borne entirely by the Village of Trumansburg, plus an estimated $10,000 annual increase in contributions starting fiscal year ending March 31, 2026

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
