72 countries have already banned paraquat, including the European Union (since 2007), Brazil, China, and the United Kingdom

Multiple studies link paraquat exposure to substantially increased risk of Parkinson's disease, with possible connections to non-Hodgkin lymphoma, renal cancer, thyroid cancer, and childhood leukemia
