Requires all hospital, surgical, and medical insurance policies in New York to cover perimenopausal and menopausal care and treatment administered by physicians or licensed health care providers

Covered symptoms include irregular menstrual periods, hot flashes, chills, slowed metabolism, vaginal or bladder problems, decreased fertility, bone loss, increased LDL cholesterol levels, and sleep disruption including night sweats

Defines perimenopause as the transition period near the end of reproductive years and menopause as permanent cessation of menstruation due to loss of ovarian follicular function

Coverage may be subject to annual deductibles and coinsurance consistent with other benefits within the policy, as determined appropriate by the superintendent

Applies to policies issued, reissued, renewed, modified, or amended on or after January 1 following enactment
