Schieber was employed as a seasonal employee by the Town of West Seneca from July 16, 1996 through September 16, 2002 and did not become a retirement system member through no fault of her own

Requires Schieber to file a written request with NYSTRS within one year of the act's effective date to receive the benefit

No contributions previously made by Schieber to the retirement system will be refunded

Estimated cost of $42,800 in increased pension liabilities will be borne by employers of NYSTRS members, not the individual
