Establishes the Commission for the Future of Local Veterans Posts in Ohio to develop recommendations on the successful and sustainable operation of local veterans posts.

Commission shall analyze the economic status of local veterans posts, relevant tax and regulatory issues, local economic and civic impact, state funding relationships, and sustainability of posts throughout the state.

Commission consists of nine members: one representative each from the Senate and House appointed by leadership as co-chairs, one minority member each from Senate and House, representatives from AMVETS of Ohio, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Ohio, and American Legion of Ohio, one independent veteran, and the Director of Veterans Services as ex officio member.

Initial appointments must be made by September 1, 2009, with the first meeting called by co-chairs in October 2009, and commission members receive no compensation.

Commission must submit its recommendations and supporting reasons to state leadership and the Governor by March 31, 2010, and ceases to exist upon submission of its report.
