HB 196 Summary

• Creates "Pediatric Brain Tumor Awareness" license plates available to owners/lessees of passenger cars, noncommercial motor vehicles, recreational vehicles, and other registrar-approved vehicle classes.

• License plates display identifying words or markings designed by the Children's Glioma Cancer Foundation and approved by the registrar, along with county identification stickers.

• Applicants must pay a $35 contribution per application/renewal and a $10 administrative fee to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, in addition to regular license taxes and fees.

• The $35 contribution is deposited into the License Plate Contribution Fund and distributed to the Children's Glioma Cancer Foundation for research and other programs.

• Applications for the pediatric brain tumor awareness plates may be combined with requests for special reserved license plates under existing law.
