H.C.R. No. 33 Summary

• Urges the President of the United States, Secretary of the Treasury, head of the President's Auto Task Force, General Motors, and Delphi Corporation to treat all General Motors-Delphi retirees fairly and equitably.

• Notes that General Motors agreed to "top up" pension plans for Delphi hourly employees represented by UAW, IUE-CWA, and USW, but did not agree to do so for salaried retirees and hourly retirees represented by IBEW, IAMAW, and IUOE.

• States that health care insurance benefits promised as retirement benefits were fully provided for UAW members, eliminated for salaried retirees, and greatly reduced for other union groups.

• Asserts that all Delphi retirees worked loyally for the same company for 20-40+ years and deserve equal treatment and full earned pensions and post-employment benefits.

• Directs the Senate Clerk to transmit copies of the resolution to the President, Treasury Secretary, Auto Task Force head, General Motors and Delphi chief executives, and Ohio news media.
