Padua Franciscan High School volleyball team won the 2009 Ohio Division II State Championship, their second consecutive state title with a 27-2 record.

Team defeated Mentor Lake Catholic in the championship match with set scores of 16-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 15-9.

Head Coach Tony Messina and assistant coaches Jim Beharry, Katie Vaughan, and Irene Link are recognized for developing players' talents and instilling determination, perseverance, and camaraderie.

House of Representatives commends the players and coaches as fine Ohioans for their athletic achievement and sportsmanship.
