Creates new offense of negligently leaving a child under five years old unattended in an automobile, with penalties ranging from minor misdemeanor to first-degree misdemeanor depending on harm to the child.

Minor misdemeanor for standard violation; third-degree misdemeanor if child suffers serious physical harm; first-degree misdemeanor if child dies.

Defines "automobile" as a passenger car, truck, or other motorized vehicle with an enclosed passenger compartment.

Amends involuntary manslaughter statute (section 2903.04) to exclude violations of the new child endangerment law from counting as predicate offenses that would enhance manslaughter charges.
