Recognizes April 6, 2009, as Tartan Day in Ohio to honor Scottish independence declared on April 6, 1320, at Arbroath Abbey.

Notes that the United States Senate unanimously established April 6th of each year as National Tartan Day on March 20, 1998, in recognition of Scottish Independence Day.

Acknowledges Ohio's state tartan, designed by Merry Jayne McMichael incorporating Ohio flag colors and state symbols, registered with the Scottish Tartan Society on March 29, 1984.

Encourages all Ohioans to participate in activities commemorating Tartan Day, including the Reynoldsburg Senior Citizen Center's event on April 4, 2009.

Directs the Senate Clerk to transmit authenticated copies of the resolution to the Scottish American Society, Reynoldsburg Senior Citizen Center, and Ohio news media.
