Changes body mass index (BMI) screening requirements from mandatory to optional for public schools, chartered nonpublic schools, community schools, and STEM schools.

Schools that elect to conduct BMI screenings must comply with existing procedures including parental notification, privacy protections, confidentiality of results, and opt-out provisions.

Modifies reporting requirements to track school participation in BMI screening programs rather than compliance with screening mandates, with data reported to the Department of Health.

Removes the waiver process previously required for schools unable to comply with BMI screening requirements, as screenings are now voluntary.

Applies the optional BMI screening framework to community schools (Section 3314.15) and STEM schools (Section 3326.26) through references to existing screening procedures.
