HB 320 Summary

• Immediate family members of U.S. armed forces members who died outside a combat zone while serving honorably may apply for "Military Sacrifice" license plates for their vehicles.

• "Military Sacrifice" license plates shall display a distinctive emblem and the words "military sacrifice" along with standard license plate information and county identification stickers.

• Applicants must submit a completed application, pay regular license taxes under section 4503.04, pay any applicable motor vehicle taxes, and comply with all other motor vehicle registration laws.

• Immediate family members eligible for the plates include spouses, parents, stepparents, in loco parentis figures, siblings (whole, half-blood, or adopted), children (including adopted and stepchildren), and grandparents.

• False representation of being an immediate family member of a deceased service member for the purpose of obtaining these license plates is prohibited.
