Renames "visiting medical faculty certificate" to "clinical research faculty certificate" throughout the statute.

Establishes initial certificate requirements including: current unrestricted medical license from another state/country, appointment to accredited medical school academic staff, international medical graduate status with degree from recognized institution, and work under department director or chairperson authority.

Changes certificate validity from "the shorter of three years or duration of appointment" to a fixed three-year period that terminates if the holder's academic appointment ends.

Eliminates the previous one-certificate limit and instead allows unlimited renewals for three-year periods upon payment of $375 fee and submission of dean affidavit, proof of current license, valid appointment, and completion of continuing medical education requirements.

Allows holders of expired visiting medical faculty certificates issued before this amendment to apply for renewal as a clinical research faculty certificate unless their previous certificate was revoked.
