HB 460 Summary

• Amends section 4303.292 of the Revised Code to add new grounds for refusing retail liquor permits based on violations of liquor control laws.

• Division of Liquor Control shall refuse to issue, renew, or transfer ownership or location of a retail permit if the applicant has violated Chapter 4303 or Chapter 4301 of the Revised Code or rules adopted under those chapters.

• Maintains existing grounds for permit refusal including criminal convictions related to fitness to operate a liquor establishment, misrepresentation in applications, substance abuse, nuisance declarations, and proximity to schools, churches, libraries, playgrounds, or hospitals.

• Requires Department of Public Safety to notify the Division of Liquor Control when criminal proceedings commence for violations of section 2913.46 of the Revised Code.

• Changes language in subsections (B) through (F) by striking "of liquor control" after "the division" for clarification purposes.
