H.C.R. No. 24 Summary

• Delegates authority to the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House to designate groups of members to prepare arguments for and against proposed Ohio Constitution amendments during the 129th General Assembly.

• Authorizes designation of members who voted in support of a constitutional amendment joint resolution to prepare pro-amendment arguments and members who voted in opposition to prepare arguments against the amendment.

• Grants authority to designate person(s) to prepare arguments or explanations regarding any law, section, or item submitted to voters by referendum petition.

• Grants authority to designate person(s) to prepare arguments against constitutional amendments proposed by initiative petition.

• Requires all designated parties to prepare and file arguments with the Secretary of State no later than 80 days before the election date.
