• Grants voting power to student members on boards of trustees for Ohio state universities (Ohio State, Ohio University, Miami University, Bowling Green State, Kent State, Central State, Cleveland State, Wright State, Youngstown State, University of Akron, University of Cincinnati, Shawnee State) and Northeast Ohio Medical University.

• Allows student trustees to be considered full members for determining quorum and permits them to attend executive sessions of board meetings.

• Specifies that student trustees cannot be disqualified based on receiving scholarships, grants, loans, financial assistance, or employment (including work-study or graduate assistant positions) funded by the state or university.

• Clarifies that acceptance of such financial assistance or employment by student trustees does not violate ethics laws (Chapter 102 or sections 2921.42 and 2921.43 of the Revised Code).
