Each state board overseeing these professions must adopt rules establishing the number of hours required for initial licensure and for license renewal, with flexibility to grant waivers for equivalent experience.

State boards must develop rules considering racial and gender-based health care disparities and consult with nationally recognized professional organizations when establishing cultural competency requirements.

Each state board must approve at least one continuing education course in cultural competency within 90 days of the bill's effective date, including instruction on addressing racial and gender-based disparities in health care treatment.

Applicants and licensed professionals must submit evidence to their respective state board demonstrating successful completion of the board's established cultural competency requirements.
