S.B. No. 74 Summary

• Adds a temporary salary reduction provision for Ohio General Assembly members from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2016, applying only to members whose terms commence on or after January 1, 2013.

• Reduces salaries by 5 percent if Ohio's unemployment rate is lower than the federal unemployment rate on December 31, 2012.

• Reduces salaries by 10 percent if Ohio's unemployment rate is higher than the federal unemployment rate on December 31, 2012.

• Applies reductions to base salaries in division (A)(1) and (3), and to additional sums for committee positions in division (A)(4).

• For Senate members, reductions continue through December 31, 2018 for those serving terms ending by that date.
