Recognizes April 2012 as Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month in Ohio to increase public awareness and understanding of child abuse and neglect issues.

Notes that the U.S. Congress first designated April as National Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month in 1983, with commemorative legislation passed annually since.

Acknowledges that child abuse and neglect affects youth across all races and socioeconomic backgrounds and has long-lasting impacts on victims, families, communities, and society.

Calls on all Ohioans, including educators, public officials, faith-based organizations, and community members to commit to preventing child abuse and neglect and building safe communities.

Directs the Clerk of the Senate to transmit authenticated copies of the resolution to Ohio news media.
