Bauer has served at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility since 2000 and was named Officer of the Month for July 2011 and Officer of the Year for 2012

Bauer serves as assistant coordinator of Oleoresin Capsicum and is a member of the Special Response Team, Weapons and Reducing Prison Violence committees, and the ODRC Special Tactics and Response Team

Ohio Senate commends Bauer as one of Ohio's finest citizens for his exemplary professionalism, dedication, and service
