Senate Resolution No. 7 extends condolences to the family and friends of Corporal Jacob A. Tate, a graduate of Gahanna Christian Academy who was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan.

Corporal Tate was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom when he was killed.

Corporal Tate is survived by his parents James and Janice, his wife Amy, and an infant son.

The Ohio Senate mourns his loss and salutes his memory as an individual who contributed to his community and made sacrifices to ensure freedom and justice.

The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit an authenticated copy of the Resolution to the family of Corporal Jacob A. Tate.
