Board members of joint vocational school districts appointed on or after September 29, 2013, shall serve three-year terms instead of previous terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms.

Members must have experience as chief financial officers, chief executive officers, human resources managers, or business/industry professionals qualified to discuss regional labor needs and workforce development.

At least three-fifths of board members must reside in or be employed within the territory of the joint vocational school district they serve.

For districts with an even number of member districts where a plan provides for one rotating additional board member, that member shall serve one-year terms instead of three-year terms.

Existing board members serving unexpired terms as of September 29, 2013, may continue in office until their terms expire, and any vacancies shall be filled under the new appointment procedures.
