Director of Environmental Protection shall adopt rules establishing a microcystin level in public water systems that constitutes a health threat based on best available science

Director shall also adopt rules establishing requirements and procedures for testing public water systems for microcystin

Public water systems located within the Lake Erie watershed must conduct microcystin testing in accordance with the adopted rules

Water system owners or operators must notify the applicable board of health when microcystin levels exceed the established threshold

Boards of health must notify water users and potential users when microcystin levels approach the health threat threshold
