A Select Committee appointed by the House Speaker reviewed the Ohio Supreme Court proceedings (Case No. 2012-2151) concerning a contested election in the 98th Ohio House District involving Joshua E. O'Farrell (contestor) and Al Landis (contestee) from the November 2012 general election.

The Select Committee found that the 2012 general election in the 98th Ohio House District, which comprises Tuscarawas County and parts of Holmes County, was conducted in compliance with the Ohio Constitution, state statutes, Secretary of State directives, and all applicable law.

The House declares that the 2012 general election for State Representative of the 98th Ohio House District was lawfully and constitutionally conducted.

The House resolves that Al Landis's seating as the Representative-elect holding the certificate of election is valid and shall continue.

Al Landis shall continue to exercise the rights and privileges of a member of the House in accordance with the 2012 general election results.
