Dr. Ann Schiele retired as president and dean of Mount Carmel College of Nursing effective July 31, 2014, and was granted president emeritus status.

She had a 50-year career in nursing, serving as a nurse, faculty member, and director before becoming the college's first president and dean in 1990.

Under her leadership, Mount Carmel transformed from a nursing diploma program to a degree-granting college offering undergraduate and graduate programs to more than 1,150 students, both on campus and online.

She served actively with community organizations including the YWCA of Columbus, The Catholic Foundation, and Lower Lights Christian Health Center.

The Ohio House of Representatives congratulates Dr. Schiele on her retirement and recognizes her as one of Ohio's finest citizens.
