S.B. 204 Summary

• Establishes an online driver's license renewal program allowing applicants to renew their licenses electronically over the internet every other renewal period, effective by December 31, 2013.

• Exempts online renewal applicants from the photograph requirement and vision screening requirement that normally apply to license renewals.

• Requires online renewal applicants to pay all applicable driver's license renewal fees except the vision screening fee, using a financial transaction device, with all associated fees borne by the applicant.

• Amends sections 4507.06 and 4507.12 to accommodate the online renewal program and modifies section 4507.21 regarding application filing procedures.

• Applies the same online renewal provisions to a version of section 4507.06 scheduled to take effect January 1, 2017, to ensure continuity of the program after that date.
