SB 372 Summary

• Authorizes the Ohio Attorney General to add unscheduled compounds to or remove compounds from Schedule I controlled substances through both regular and emergency rule-making procedures

• Requires the Attorney General to consult with the State Board of Pharmacy before taking action and consider factors including abuse potential, public health risk, law enforcement reports, and actions by other states

• Establishes an emergency rule procedure allowing immediate scheduling of substances posing an imminent hazard to public health, valid for up to 364 days (extendable to 729 days if nonemergency adoption begins)

• Requires the Attorney General to compile and maintain a publicly accessible list of compounds added to or removed from Schedule I

• Amends Section 119.03 to exempt the Attorney General's emergency rules under this section from standard administrative rulemaking procedures
