OH SB377

Increases the school year to at least 220 days for all public schools and chartered nonpublic schools beginning in the 2015-2016 school year and thereafter.

Establishes specific hourly requirements as alternatives to the 220-day requirement: 550 hours for kindergarten students (or 1,100 hours if all-day kindergarten is provided), 1,100 hours for grades 1-6, and 1,210 hours for grades 7-12.

Directs the State Board of Education to adopt rules and procedures necessary to implement these requirements.

Expresses legislative intent to enact separate legislation amending the Ohio Revised Code to align with the new requirements.
