OH HB209

Adds prohibition against creating a condition with intent to cause law enforcement officials to believe a crime is being committed to the disorderly conduct offense under section 2917.11.

Adds prohibition against purposely simulating the commission of any offense to the inducing panic offense under section 2917.31, with graduated felony penalties ranging from third to second degree depending on circumstances including economic harm and weapons of mass destruction.

Modifies section 2917.32 (making false alarms) to include language allowing reckless causation of false reports to law enforcement agencies regarding alleged offenses or incidents.

Adds new prohibition in section 2921.31 (obstructing official business) making it unlawful to commit any act that simulates a crime with purpose to obstruct, distract, or divert a law enforcement official from authorized duties.

Repeals existing sections 2917.11, 2917.31, 2917.32, and 2921.31 of the Revised Code and replaces them with amended versions.
