Requires dentists, nurses, optometrists, pharmacists, physicians, psychologists, and social workers to complete instruction in cultural competency to receive or renew their licenses in Ohio.

Each state licensing board must adopt rules establishing the required hours of initial cultural competency instruction for license applicants and continuing education hours for license renewals.

State boards may waive the cultural competency requirement if applicants demonstrate substantially equivalent experience, with criteria to be established by each board.

Boards must approve continuing education courses on cultural competency in health care treatment that specifically address race and gender-based disparities in health care treatment decisions.

Each state board must consult with nationally recognized professional organizations when developing cultural competency rules and must approve at least one course within 90 days of the law's effective date.
