H.B. 54 Summary

• Amends section 3311.19 and enacts section 3311.191 of the Revised Code to modify terms of office for joint vocational school district board members.

• Members appointed on or after September 29, 2013, shall serve three-year terms with a limit of two consecutive terms (terms not consecutive if separated by three or more years).

• Establishes qualification requirements for board members, including experience as chief financial officers, chief executive officers, human resources managers, or business/industry professionals qualified to discuss regional labor needs.

• For joint vocational districts with an even number of member districts appointing rotating additional board members, the rotating additional member shall serve one-year terms instead of three-year terms.

• Allows previously appointed rotating additional members (appointed after September 29, 2013 but before this section's effective date) to continue serving until their current term expires.
