• Establishes the Malnutrition Prevention Commission to study malnutrition among older adults (defined as persons age 60 or older) in Ohio health care settings.

• Commission membership includes directors from Health, Aging, Job and Family Services, and Agriculture departments; the Executive Director of the Commission on Minority Health; chairs of health-focused legislative committees; and Governor-appointed members including physicians, nurses, dietitians, researchers, and representatives from hospitals and aging organizations.

• Commission shall study malnutrition's impact on older adults, investigate reduction strategies, monitor health care costs and outcomes, develop data collection methods, and identify evidence-based intervention models for malnutrition prevention.

• Commission must prepare a report with findings and recommendations and submit it to the Governor and General Assembly within twelve months of the effective date.

• Commission shall cease to exist upon submission of the report.
