Enacts section 5.29 of the Ohio Revised Code designating September as "Pain Awareness Month" to raise public awareness and understanding of physical pain and pain management.

Recognizes that physical pain affects tens of millions of Americans and that untreated or inadequately treated pain diminishes quality of life.

Identifies economic costs to Ohio from pain-related issues including medical expenses, lost wages, reduced productivity, and other costs.

Establishes the General Assembly's position that increasing public awareness of physical pain and promoting access to appropriate pain treatment for all Ohioans is vital to reducing suffering and removing barriers to pain-free living.
