SB 325 Summary

• Repeals the requirement that electric distribution utilities and electric services companies provide 12.5% of retail power supplies from qualifying renewable energy resources by 2027.

• Eliminates energy efficiency and peak demand reduction requirements previously mandated for electric distribution utilities.

• Creates an Energy Mandates Study Committee to analyze Ohio's renewable energy, energy efficiency, and demand reduction mandates and report findings by September 30, 2015, including cost-benefit analyses and recommendations for future energy policy.

• Preserves existing contracts for advanced energy resources, renewable energy resources, and energy efficiency programs entered into before the bill's effective date.

• Modifies the advanced energy fund and program by removing renewable energy compliance payment revenues and repealing related compliance and reporting requirements.
